Korean BBQ Steak Bowls are a vibrant and satisfying meal that brings the rich flavors of Korean cuisine right to your table. This easy recipe features marinated flank steak, fresh vegetables, and tangy kimchi served over fluffy rice.

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup kimchi
  • 1 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 avocado, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Place flank steak in a resealable bag; pour marinade over it. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
  3. Cook rice according to package instructions.
  4. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove steak from marinade and discard excess marinade.
  5. Cook steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  6. Assemble bowls with rice as the base topped with sliced steak, kimchi, cucumber, carrots, and avocado.
